You must be comfortable removing and reinstalling the wheels, seatpost, and rear derailleur. If you are unfamiliar with these procedures, we recommend practicing at home before your first trip.

Removing the pedals is not required. However, due to the compact size of the Loomer, removing one pedal may make packing easier. Product testers have successfully traveled with both pedals installed and with one removed.

No. The chain can remain installed and placed in the dedicated rear-derailleur side pouch during packing. The rigid side walls provide plenty protection for the wheels and brake rotors, so rotor removal is not necessary.

Each wheel fits into its own foam-padded wheel bag and accommodates tires up to 55 mm wide.

Experienced cyclists can pack or assemble their bike in approximately 5–10 minutes. We recommend practicing the process at least once before traveling.

A hex key set, torque key/wrench, tire inflator, and grease or carbon assembly paste is typically required. If your seat post or frame is made of carbon, apply carbon paste during reassembly according to the manufacturer’s specifications. An electric tire inflator with a pressure gauge is great for travel, but you should keep it in your carry-on.

SRAM's Full Mount derailleurs attach directly to the frame and require a different packing process compared to a traditional derailleur with hanger. For packing, the UDH bolt needs to be loosened with an 8mm hex tool and the derailleur should be angled forward against the chainstay so it doesn’t extend past the sides of the Loomer. This means resetting the chain tension and tightening the bolt to 35 Nm during reassembly. This is a relatively easy process once you get the hang of it, but keep in mind that a torque wrench that tightens up to 35 Nm should be brought on trips.

No. The Loomer is fully foam-lined and includes padded wheel bags. Additional wrapping, foam padding, or protective accessories are not required. However, if you’re bringing a full-size floor pump, make sure to wrap the pump in padding.

The 333L measures 254 cm (100") and the 370L measures 262 cm (103") in linear dimensions (L+W+H). These are below the 292 cm (115") oversized limit used by most major airlines. Many U.S. airlines now treat bicycles as standard checked luggage and the Loomer will not incur extra oversize fees. Always confirm policies with your airline before travel.

The Loomer is designed to withstand the demands of airline travel, including drops, stacking, and side compression. Corrugated polycarbonate side walls resist vertical forces, bracing panels between the side walls provide side crush protection, and the molded polycarbonate base absorbs impact while maintaining structure.

The Loomer fits easily in SUVs and minivans with rear seats folded down (sometimes just one seat). It may fit across the back seat of larger sedans. Please consider vehicle size when making travel arrangements.

The Loomer features four wheels (two swiveling) for smooth movement through airports and terminals. The wide base provides stability to prevent tipping, and reinforced carry handles make lifting easy.

With the weight of the Loomer being under 12kg, an 8kg road bike and helmet, tools and accessories comes under 23kg. We recommend to plan carefully and pack intentionally to ensure you don't exceed your airline's weight limit.

Refer to the Sizing Chart tab on the Loomer page to determine the correct size. Bikes with extreme geometries, such as unusually long wheelbases or tall handlebar stack heights, may not fit.

No. The Loomer is designed specifically for road and gravel bikes and supports only front quick-release and 12x100 mm thru-axle interfaces.

Aero bars that extend past the shift hoods, fenders, and rear pannier racks must be removed and secured separately inside the Loomer during travel.

The Loomer was not designed for frames with an extended seat tube that acts as a seatpost. However, some frames with this type of seat tube are short enough and might fit. As shown on the Sizing Chart, The 333L will fit up to a 54cm seat tube (measured from the center of the bottom bracket to the top) and the 370L will fit up to 59cm seat tube.

The Loomer is covered against manufacturing defects. If a defect is identified within 30 days of receipt, we will replace it and cover shipping costs. Damage due to normal wear and tear is not covered, but we will assist with repair solutions. That may include spare parts, fabric patch kits, or sending in the unit for repair, whenever possible.
