TRANSFER CASE
The Transfer Case is an extremely compact travel case for your full-sized road or gravel bike. It’s small enough to pass as normal luggage and avoid airline fees, yet fully protective for travel. Bring your bike to your next adventure.***Shipping update. We're currently experiencing shipping delays and the Transfer Case is estimated to be back in stock around the end of August. Pre-order now to have it shipped as soon as it's available.***

Compact & Protected
The Transfer Case has rigid polycarbonate plastic panels and thick foam padding throughout. Padded wraps for your frame and chainstay add yet another layer of protection. These wraps keep your bike scratch-free and eliminate the need for additional foam tubes for protection. Just pack it and go!

Save on travel fees
The overall dimensions of the Transfer Case are just slightly larger than a regular piece of luggage. Some airline counter agents will let it through without the fees that bigger bike cases normally get charged with. While we do not guarantee the Transfer Case will avoid all airline fees, it has a great track record of avoiding or reducing any.

Gets anywhere
By being as compact as possible, rolling the Transfer Case through narrow passageways is a breeze thanks to its external wheels. It even has integrated shoulder straps to wear it like a backpack. At under 6kg for the Transfer Case by itself, it’s the lightest and most compact, yet still highly protective bike cases out there.

Fits any vehicle
The Transfer Case fits nicely in a small car’s trunk. Traveling as a couple? You can even fit multiple cases in the same vehicle. Say goodbye to the hassle of finding a large vehicle at your destination or negotiating with taxi drivers unwilling to bring a bigger case.

Folds for storage and mobility
The Transfer Case can be rolled into the size of a large backpack when empty which is great for saving space at home when you’re not traveling. Want to build your bike at the airport? Ride away to your destination with the Transfer Case and things packed in it on your back.

Fully compartmentalized
All the components of your bike have a compartment or strap inside the Transfer Case to keep it protected and organized. From a dedicated rear derailleur pouch to pockets for the pedals, brake rotors and even tools, the Transfer Case was designed with all aspects of packing and travel in mind.

HOW TO DETERMINE YOUR TRANSFER CASE SIZE

1 | Measure the frame's headtube length (including headset cups or attachments that cannot be easily taken off.) |
2 | Measure the diagonal length between the forward-most point (at the center of the headtube) to the furthest point of the frame (usually the derailleur hanger on geared bikes). |
3 |
Use the chart below to determine your frame’s Transfer Case size. Note: Frames with a headtube or diagonal length measurement greater than what’s listed won’t fit. |
135L | 150L | ||
---|---|---|---|
Headtube length (cm) | Diagonal length (cm) | Headtube length (cm) | Diagonal length (cm) |
12 | ≤101.1 | 15 | ≤106.4 |
13 | ≤100.6 | 16 | ≤105.9 |
14 | ≤100.2 | 17 | ≤105.5 |
15 | ≤99.7 | 18 | ≤105.0 |
16 | ≤99.2 | 19 | ≤104.5 |
17 | ≤98.7 | 20 | ≤104.0 |
18 | ≤98.3 | 21 | ≤103.5 |
SIZING EXAMPLES
- A frame with an 18cm headtube length and a measured diagonal of 98cm will fit in the 135L Transfer Case.- A frame with a 20.5cm headtube length and a measured diagonal of 100cm will fit in the 150L Transfer Case.
In general, most travelers will prefer the smaller Transfer Case (135L) if their frame size allows for it. If your frame dimensions exceed the dimensions listed above by only a few millimeters, keep in mind that the Case’s side panels have thick foam padding that provides leeway and will still allow it to fit. Write to us at info@postcarry.co if you have any questions about fitting.
COMPATIBILITY NOTES
In regards to cable routing, as long as the bike's cables and housing do not prevent the fork from being removed, it will fit inside the Transfer Case. Frames with fully integrated cables or housing are not compatible inside the Transfer Case.
EXTERNAL CABLES
Fully compatible in the Transfer Case.

SEMI-INTEGRATED CABLES
If cables or hoses are partially inside the handlebar, frame, or fork (but not going through the headset), that's ok. Your bike is compatible with the Transfer Case.

FULLY-INTEGRATED CABLES
If cables or hoses go inside the stem or through the headset/headtube from the top, as pictured above, your bike is NOT compatible with the Transfer Case.
